  Q:

Can I get information regarding pricing & financing?

  A:

Yes, you can. We have provided typically equipped pricing and financing information on the Caravan web site. Or, you can call 1-800-4CESSNA or (316) 517-6056, or fill out our request for more information form to have a sales person contact you.

Q: Does anyone buy a Caravan for personal use?
A: Yes. It is a very popular airplane for those individuals who need to carry a lot of people or cargo, but only need to travel within a 400 - 500 mile radius. They often buy the airplane without the passenger seats and put in an executive interior. The cabin will accommodate a double club (8 seats), but a single club and two forward facing seats are the most popular. DVD players, storage/bar cabinets, fold-out tables, and other amenities are often included.

Q: How many Caravans are there in the world today?
  A: Approximately 1,400 in 67 countries.

Q: Doesn't Federal Express have some of them?
A: Yes, they are the largest Caravan fleet owner in the world, with more than 250 Caravans. They are used all over the United States to pick-up and deliver their packages to the smaller communities.

Q: How are operators using their Caravans today?
  A:

The Caravan's large, square cabin configuration and its rough field landing capability makes it an airplane that can be used almost anywhere to carry almost anything. Transporting freight or a combination of freight and passengers are two of the most popular uses. In many countries, the Caravan is in regular airline service, feeding passengers from smaller communities into larger cities. It's also used by military and police organizations for troop transport, supplies, surveillance, or prisoner transport.

The Caravan 675 on floats is used as a commercial airplane or a personal airplane. Want some unusual examples? It's used by game parks to transport animals, including sedated lions! It's used to transport baby glass eels (a delicacy in the Far East) to larger tanks where they are grown for consumption. It's used to haul shrimp in the same type of application. It's used to deliver the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times. The list goes on and on.

Q: If you finance it, can you make enough money with a Caravan to make the payments and earn a living?
A: The majority of the Caravan fleet today are involved in some kind of commercial operation and were financed at the time of purchase. If they didn't make money for their owners, we would have a hard time selling any more of them. Over 50% of our total annual sales are from operators that already own one or more Caravans. The direct cost of operation on a Caravan is very low; usually about $200 (USD) an hour. We can't promise you'll make money with it, but we can tell you that it has been done many times, and we can give you many examples of successful Caravan business operators.
